First Anniversary Speech
I am indeed humbled by the deeds of the almighty God and the support I received from all of you that identified with this vision.
I was the medical officer in charge of Haematology day care at Ring road hospital in the 90s, where I was also in charge of the sickle cell club of Adeoyo. That passion never left me even though I retired as a consultant anaesthetist from the oyo state hospital management board in 2017. I registered this sickle cell foundation in 2014 but because I was still in service, running private practice and hadling medical emergency in my church, I couldn't take off properly. After the covid 19 lockdown we started our monthly meeting on the 8th November, 2020 with only 5 champion in attendance, no bank accounts, no website, no online presence but we started with what we had which was willing hearts, a centrifuge and the support of Chrisbo staff. Today, we have registered over 130 champions, we have a functional online presence, we have been on radio several times, the names of the radio stations are as follows Radio Nigeria, BCOS, Fresh FM, Noble FM
